Kitchen Garden

Kitchen Garden week 3 with 3/4C.

It was hot hot hot last Thursday which meant it was too hot to work in the garden, instead 3/4C found a cool, shady area under some trees and participated in some relaxing activities. Students had the option to make origami seed packets, do drawings using different mediums, pressing flowers and making a refreshing lemon drink. It was lovely to see such calm amongst the class while they got creative. Our expert composters, Kaan and Rose, checked on the classroom FOGO bins and topped up the newspaper. They were very impressed that all the FOGO bins were clean and being used correctly. Welldone!

Thank you to Peta, Lorrae and Casey for helping.

Kitchen Garden Market Cart

The Kitchen Garden Market Cart will be set up on a regular basis during the year at the front of the school. It will be stocked with fresh produce from the garden and preserves made using ingredients from the garden.

The stall won’t always be ‘manned’ as Allesha will be working in the garden. It will work as an honesty system where you select the produce you’d like and make your donation.

Donations can be made by placing cash in the donation slot on the cart or making a donation via eftpos at the office and placing the receipt in the donation slot on the cart. Instructions are displayed on the cart. Days and times when the cart will be out will vary so keep updated through the schools communication channels.

The Kitchen Garden will also be offering $25 produce boxes at different times throughout the year. These will include a variety of fresh seasonal produce from the garden. Again, keep up to date through the schools communication channels.
