Student Wellbeing

WELLBEING SUPPORTS | Frankston High School believes that students can only reach their full educational potential when they are happy, healthy, and safe, and when there is a positive School culture to engage and support them in their learning.  Our school acknowledges that student wellbeing and student learning outcomes are inextricably linked.  Year Level Leaders can refer students to the Wellbeing Team for support with parental/carer consent. Please contact the Year Level Leaders or the Wellbeing Team if you have any questions or would like your child referred.

Frankston High School Community Survey -Defining Wellbeing

The Frankston High School Wellbeing Action Team want to develop a shared definition of what wellbeing is.  We have surveyed students and staff, and are now seeking feedback from families and the school community. This feedback will form the baseline that the whole school plan will be built upon.

Mental Health

Mental health problems are common but help is available.

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological and social wellbeing. It affects how we think, feel and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through to adulthood.

Over the course of your life, if you experience mental health problems, your thinking, mood and behaviour could be affected.  Many factors contribute to mental health problems including:

  • Biological factors, such as genes or brain chemistry
  • Life experiences, such as trauma or abuse
  • Family history of mental health problems

Support is available; never hesitate to reach out and ask for help.
