Assessment at Frankston High School
On our journey of continuous improvement, Frankston High School will implement Ongoing or Continuous Reporting in 2024, whereby teachers provide feedback on student's progress and achievements at various stages in the semester, allowing for the student and the family to address issues and make changes prior to the end of semester.
As a first step towards Continuous Reporting, students and families will see a change in the format and content of Progress Reports this year. Students will be assessed on five key learning behaviours, that, as a school, we feel are important to make progress and achieve positive outcomes in the classroom.
- Brings all required equipment/materials to class
- Uses class time productively
- Effort
- Listens and responds respectfully to all
- Completes all set classwork and homework
Teachers will make judgements on their students’ display of the above learning behaviours using a four-point scale: Always, Usually, Occasionally, Rarely.
Below is a rubric that provides additional detail on these levels and the basis for teachers’ conclusion on the frequency with which the student presents on each of the learning behaviours.
