Cake Stall, Craft and Jam

Fete Cake Stall Contribution
The fete cake stall relies on our school community to provide a variety of cakes and goodies for sale on Fete Day. Please start talking to your family and friends about what they might be able to contribute to the stall. Now is a great time to make and freeze some batches of cookie dough ready for baking in time for Fete day………
- Our Community is diverse - we welcome any goodies which reflect your family’s culture
- Traditional treats like fruit cakes or decorated cup cakes are very popular
- If baking a whole cake seems daunting, simple sweets like honey joys are welcome
- We need a variety of items including vegan and gluten free items
- On Fete Day it is fine to include nuts in your baking
- We will send home labels and a cake box for each family closer to Fete Day.

Jam and Preserves
Thank you to Erin, Renae, Michelle, Jess, and Kylie for coming along to the jam making sessions. We are still taking donations, especially for savoury things – remember to remove the labels, sterilise your jars (https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/howto/guide/how-sterilise-jars) and list the ingredients. We will label the jars for the Fete, so listing on paper is fine, or email me. Please drop donations off at the office.
We still need jars. Anything from a mustard size jar up to 400ml is perfect. Please drop off to the office if you have any to spare.

Heat oil, add dry spices and cook on a medium heat for 5 minutes. Add ginger and garlic paste and cook for a further 5 minutes.
Add tomatoes, sugar, salt and remaining vinegar and simmer for an hour. When the oil comes to the top and the relish looks like a curry sauce, it is ready. Pour into sterilised jars and seal while still hot.
If you have excess fruit from your trees, please let me know and I will put it to good use.
