3-Way Conferences Students, Parents/Carers and Teachers Week 8 – Booking Process Live on Compass
At CNPS, we continuously strive to empower our students to have further voice and agency in their learning and improve the partnership between home and school. This year we will implement 3-Way Conferences in Term 1 to further engage our students in sharing their learning with their parents/carers.
During the 3-Way Conferences in Week 8, your child will share their Learning Goals, including the strategies they will use to achieve their goals. Within the 15-minute conference, you and your child may also wish to discuss your child’s academic, social or emotional wellbeing with their teacher. Alternatively, if there is something that you wish to discuss with your child’s teacher without your child being present, we can arrange an alternate meeting at another date and time, or your child could step out of the meeting and engage in a supervised activity in the hallway.
All families will be able to book conference times with their child’s teachers on Compass.
If you have any issues booking, please contact the office for assistance.
The conference time is limited to 15 minutes only. Please remember that you can always book another meeting with your child’s teacher on another day if you require additional time.
Please Note: Students will not attend classes/school on this day. However, we request that all students attend the 3-Way Conference with their parents/carers.
We have requested that Big Childcare provide care for families on this day. The school is waiting for further confirmation.
Teaching Teams will send out an outline of Expectations and Protocols for these conferences closer to the date.
NAPLAN Window Commences Wednesday 15 March
NAPLAN is a national literacy and numeracy assessment that students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9
sit each year. It is the only national assessment all Australian students have the opportunity to undertake. As students progress through their school years, it’s important to check how well they are learning the essential skills of reading, writing and numeracy.
NAPLAN assesses the literacy and numeracy skills that students are learning through the school curriculum and allows parents/carers to see how their child is progressing against national standards and over time. NAPLAN is just one aspect of a school’s assessment and reporting process. It doesn’t replace ongoing assessments made by teachers about student performance, but it can provide teachers with additional information about students’ educational progress.
NAPLAN also provides schools, education authorities and governments with information about how education programs are working and whether young Australians are achieving important educational outcomes in literacy and numeracy.
Our Year 3 and Year 5 Students will be participating in the NAPLAN assessments on the following days:
Weds 15 March | Mon 20 March | Weds 22 March | Thurs 23 Mar | |
YEAR 3 | Writing | Reading | Language Conventions | Numeracy |
YEAR 5 | Writing | Reading | Language Conventions | Numeracy |
