Aoife's Message

Dear Holy Cross families,

Today we had our second visit from our Prep 2023 children. They had some fun in the classroom and met their buddies for next year. Carley McGauran, psychologist, led our parent session and offered many practical ideas to ensure we thrive and not just survive the commencement of the 2023 school year.

Advent

We gathered as a whole school this morning to acknowledge the beginning of Advent. Thank you to the children from 4B who led us in reflection of hope.

Victorian School Garden award

Our Sustainability leaders and two student representatives from Year 6 visited the Botanic Gardens yesterday to receive our Regional award for 'most engaging garden'. We thank the staff, families and children who have contributed to our garden over many years. You planted the seeds and we are grateful to be the current custodians of this beautiful space.

Yr 5 Leadership Day

Our Yr 5 children were immersed in a leadership day last week. They listened to guest speakers Tate Kemp and Mark LeBusque and took part in reflective activities. We're looking forward to seeing this group of children take on leadership roles next year.

5/6 Camp

It was a pleasure to spend time with our Yr 5 and 6 children on camp this week. They demonstrated resilience, bravery, adaptability and teamwork. Please see the Holy Cross happenings section for more details from our children.

Lana Gusak

We pray for Lana and her family on the recent passing of her Dad. We wish Lana peace, comfort and courage at this time of sorrow.

Uniforms

A reminder that full summer uniform is to be worn, along with a hat each day. On Sport and Outdoor Ed days children can wear their sports uniform.

The end of the year is nearly upon us and with it there is a mix of excitement for Christmas and exhaustion from a year of hard work across all year levels. The next three weeks sees events such as our Christmas concert, Year 6 Graduation, Yr 6 Market day, new children joining us for orientation sessions and a whole host of other activities. Please rest when you can as December draws near, all the better to appreciate the gifts we have in one another.

Have a peaceful weekend.
