Faith

Year 9 Mass

It is always a special time to have students, parents and staff pray and reflect together in the College Chapel.  This week, Mr Allen’s Year 9 students celebrated Mass.  A big thank you to all the incredible and talented readers, altar servers, running of the PowerPoint – probably the most difficult job, and to the parents who joined us in this Eucharistic celebration.  Fra Oscar’s homily always challenges our young men and allows them to reflect more deeply on how they can enact their faith in their own lives.  A special thank you to our Old Boy, Matthew Loo ('21) on piano.

Year 9 Galilee Retreat

Campus Ministry and the TC staff always try to deliver meaningful and engaging retreat experiences for our students.  Thursday 10 November was no exception as our Year 9 students walked the shores of Galilee, listening to stories come alive about Jesus’ ministry.  The students were provided with opportunities to share their own stories and reflect on their relationship with God, family and friends.

Thank you to all the adult leaders who lead each PCG retreat, to the Year 9 PCG teachers, and nine of our Class of 2021 young men for participating in this special day – even when many were in the middle of their own university exams. We always pride ourselves on our College mantra, Men for Others, so it is refreshing to see so many Old Boys wanting to be part of this Retreat. Our staff and student leaders saw a need and acted upon it. We are very blessed to have so many staff who volunteer on these retreat days.  Thank you!

Community Mass

Friday 8.00am Mass was hosted by Miss Benson’s 7.5 PCG class.  A special thank you to our readers - Harry Day, Edward Jones and Nathan Colley.  Thank you to all who attended, and to our Altar Servers. We have two more Friday 8.00am Masses and during the month of November we are encouraging our community to light a candle for a loved one, prior to the commencement of Mass or immediately after. Thank you and God bless!

First Holy Communion

Congratulations to Nicholas and Patrick Jones who recently celebrated their first Holy Communion. The celebration was made even more special by having their Great Uncle conducting the mass. A special moment, well done boys.
