Junior School District Athletics

We were lucky to have a gloriously sunny day for the Junior School District Athletics on Wednesday 23 August. 

 

On the day, we had 57 Junior School students from Years 3 to 6 represent Kilvington at the Duncan Mackinnon Athletics Track. 

We were proud to see every single competitor display true determination and effort when competing in their events. 

Congratulations to the students who made it through to the Beachside District Athletics Division which will be held on Tuesday 10 October.

 

9-10YO Group:

  • Mia Nation - 1st, 1500m
  • Magnus Bernard - 1st, Triple Jump
  • Millie Simpson - 1st, High Jump; 2nd, Long Jump
  • Muskan Kapoor - 2nd, Discus
  • Sophie Tesch - 2nd, Shot Put

11YO Group:

  • Roxana Kanzburg - 2nd, Discus

12-13YO Group:

  • Ella Spooner - 1st, Shot Put

2023 Victorian Age Short Course Championships 

We recently had some outstanding achievements from our elite swimmers, Annie Steele, Liam Molloy, GretaSaville and Henry Kiosoglous, at the 2023 Victorian Age Short Course Championships.  

 

The students will go on to compete at the Australian Short Course Swim Championships in Sydney from 13 to 16 September. We wish them all the very best for the competition! 

 

Here are their results from the Short Course Championships: 

 

Annie Steele, Year 9

Annie took out five state titles. She was just 0.3s off the Victorian record in the 100m individual medley too. She is now the age group champion for 14-year-old girls in the State.

  • 14YO girls 50m - Gold
  • 100m and 200m freestyle - Gold 
  • 100m and 200m individual medley - Gold 
  • 100m breaststroke - Silver
  • 100m and 200m backstroke - Bronze 

Liam Molloy, Year 11

Liam competed in the 17 to 18-year-old combined boys category. 

  • 200m freestyle - Gold 
  • 100m freestyle - Silver
  • 200m individual medley - Bronze 
  • 400m freestyle - Bronze  
  • 50m freestyle - 4th place 
  • 100m individual medley - 4th place

Greta Saville, Year 11

Greta competed in the 17 to 18-year-old girls combined category. 

  • 400m freestyle - Silver 
  • 800m freestyle - Silver 
  • 200m freestyle - Bronze (PB time)
  • 100m freestyle - 4th place
  • Individual medley - 5th place 

Henry Kiosoglous, Year 10

Henry competed in a number of events in the 16-year-old boys category.

  • 200m breaststroke - 7th place
