Library News

The Year 12 exams are now well underway and we would like to remind the boys to return their textbooks and library books to the boxes provided outside the exam rooms, or to the library directly. Invoices will be sent out for any books still outstanding after the exams.

Coming up in the Senior Library on Wednesday 13 November is the much-anticipated visit of author Jackie French. Anyone who has ever heard an author speak at Writers’ Week or any other similar event will know that to hear a writer talk about their work, their inspiration and their drive is a very motivating and thought-provoking experience. We hope the boys enjoy hearing from one of Australia’s most popular authors.

The annual pizza lunch for senior boys is coming up in Week 6, and most of the boys who completed the Reading Challenge will have received their invitation by now. Once again, congratulations to everyone who completed the Challenge.

As we approach the halfway mark of the term, I’d like to remind Primary students that Week 5 is the last week for borrowing, and that by the end of Week 7, all books should be returned. The annual stock-take will then take place and with two libraries involved - this is no quick task. The process is certainly smoother when all items are returned and in place.

The display focus this week is on Remembrance Day, and we will mark the occasion with a minute’s silence in both libraries at 11am on Monday 11 November.
