Principal's Report

Planning Week

This week was Planning Week for teachers. Each year level of teachers was released for a whole day to work together in collaborative planning for the Term 3 curriculum and learning program. While they planned, the specialist teachers provided the learning for the students and next week, the specialist teachers will have their planning day.

In addition to planning days, all teachers have a double session of collaborative planning each week so they can plan the weekly curriculum in more detail, review assessment data, discuss the student learning needs and cater for all levels of learning.

Student-Led Conferences Tuesday 25 June | 4 - 7:30pm

Students are excited to share their learning with parents for the upcoming Student-Led Conferences.  It is remarkable to hear our students articulate their learning with clarity and purpose, filling them with great pride in their achievements. In their classrooms, students will talk with their parents about their learning and share their achievements from the first semester, using their portfolio as part of the discussion. Teachers will prepare the students for the discussions prior to the student-led conferences. They will work on their communication and presentation skills with a ‘buddy’ class in preparation for the meeting.

Specialist teachers will also be in their rooms and available on the night so students can visit these classrooms with their parents as well.

Bookings are now available online and parents can book a time for their student-led conference through Compass by navigating to:

Discovery Days - Foundation 2020

On Friday 7th and 14th of June we held Discovery sessions for prospective 2020 Foundation students. Kinder children were invited to participate in fun, hands-on learning activities in the classrooms with some of our Foundation teachers. These fantastic sessions provide children with an opportunity to explore and experience school life in the classroom context while building their confidence and enthusiasm towards school.

Throughout Term 3, we will also have ‘Storytime’ sessions held in the library. Our Foundation teachers and our Library Technician will engage the students in some wonderful stories and fun activities. Storytime sessions will be held  on the 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th August.
