Principal's Report

This will be the last newsletter for 2018. Thank you to all staff, parents, families and students for an outstanding year of learning at Milgate PS.

There have been many achievements – academic, sport, music and art. Congratulations and well done to everyone for their contributions to the students and the school throughout the year.

To the staff and students who are leaving Milgate PS this year, thank you for your contributions to the school and we wish you all the best for the future.

We hope everyone has a happy Christmas and an enjoyable holiday. We look forward to seeing everyone when we return in 2019 for another great year at Milgate.

Planning Week for 2019

This week we had our Term 1, 2019 planning days. Teachers planned in their 2019 teams and it was exciting to see so many new staff working collaboratively to plan challenging and engaging learning for students.

Carols Night

Thursday 13 December

It was great to see so many families and friends attending our Christmas Concert / Carols night. We would like to say a special thank you to Lucy Lennox (Performing Arts teacher) for all her work in organising the evening and to Olivia Siddaway (Visual Art teacher) for the fantastic artistic backdrop. Thank you to all the teachers, parents and friends for coming to make it a great night.

Year Level Celebrations

Today all year levels held special events that celebrated their learning and achievements with their classmates. The celebrations were:

  • Foundation | Cubby building day
  • Years 1 and 2 | Waterworks incursion, Dance session and hot dog lunch (Year 1) or BBQ (Year 2)
  • Years 3 and 4 | Jumping Castle and pizza lunch
  • Year 5 | Excursion to Bounce
  • Year 6 | Excursion to Funfields

They will all enjoy the day and have a great time.

Year 6 | Graduation Night

Tuesday 18 December

Next week our Year 6 students will graduate from Milgate Primary School. A wonderful celebration is planned and will include performing special songs, dancing with their parents and making speeches about themselves and their aspirations. We are looking forward to seeing many parents and grandparents who will help celebrate their child’s graduation from primary school.

This is an exciting time for all students as they continue their learning journey into secondary school. We wish them all the best at secondary school and into their future. We hope many will come back and let us know how they are going, what they are doing and share their achievements with us.

Thank you to the parents whose last child is leaving Milgate PS and this year ends their association with the school. Thank you to all of them for their contributions to the school and the students’ learning – we have really appreciated it.
