"Click & Collect  - St Nicholas School Library

A click & collect loan/returns system has been set up for students to continue to utilise the St Nicholas School Library. Please note all health/safety precautions will be taken to wipe down and " quarantine" books in the days after they are returned before being re-issued. Here is the loan/return schedule for Term 2. Book orders will be filled as books are made available.

Instructions and schedule below.

St Nicholas School Library  Click and Collect

Please follow the steps below if you need help please email.

Step 1: Return library books back to school Monday, Tuesday when you pick up the book packs from the auditorium.

Step 2: Follow the instructions below to assist your child to reserve up to 6 books each, regardless of the year level. Every endeavour will be made to fill requests but be aware the library usually only has 1 copy of a text so there may be a short wait.

Step 3:

Make a reservation:

Open your child’s Lift Off Learning Classroom and click on Library. Then open the link to Oliver.

In the search bar type the book or topic of books your child is looking to borrow and click on SEARCH.

This will open a page of suggestions that are available either as a physical book in the St Nicholas School Library or as an ebook or audiobook.

Click on the title of the book and it will notify you what type of book it is.

If it is an ebook and you want to reserve it, click on the image and drag it to the left and drop it in the basket, then follow the instructions for borrowing it electronically.

If the book is a physical copy in our school library, click on it and drag the cover to the right and drop it into the basket. Then click on MORE ACTIONS - REQUEST - ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO SEND AN EMAIL TO LIBRARY - CLICK YES.

I will receive an email and organise the order.

Below is a schedule of loans and returns.

Loans and Returns will be picked up from the Steam Room - door on the side carpark. Please do not park in this carpark. There is a week reserved after each return cycle so that books can be wiped down, quarantined and aired before being re-issued. I hope this format works and we can move forward to provide our children with as many options as possible for their learning and reading enjoyment.

Kind regards

Julie McGuirk / Teacher Librarian

WHERE and WHAT are you reading?

We all have our favourite authors, and genres and our favourite, sometimes secret, hiding / reading spaces.

Send in a photo of your child or children or even family reading to:

jmcguirk@arm.catholic.edu.au and Mr Chamberlain and I will work out a way to share these reading adventures with our St Nicholas School reading community. If you do not want the photo for public viewing please indicate this on the email.

PREMIER'S READING CHALLENGE 2020

While your children are at home please keep them reading. If possible try to find some books from the Challenge booklist, but if this is not possible, do not worry just keep your children reading and please keep reading to your children.

For Kinder, Yr 1 and Yr 2 students parents keep filling out the reading log with any books you read to them and add extra pages if you need to.

Primary students it's up to you to keep a log or diary of what you read please. If you would like to email me anything interesting about what you are reading I would love to hear from you.

If you would like your log in details for the Challenge ie your child's username and password please email me.

Let's keep in touch.
