SCHOOL UNIFORM - SUMMER TO WINTER
With winter approaching, it is time to consider the conversion from summer to winter uniform. We expect that the days will be still warm enough for the students to wear summer uniform on the commencement of Term 2, however it is expected that all students will be wearing the full winter uniform by Monday, 11 May 2020.
If you wish to access the clothing pool, please email or telephone our office staff. Our office staff will be more than happy to access the clothing pool on your behalf for uniform items and have them ready for collection in the office.
SCHOOL TV
It’s never been more challenging for parents to raise happy, healthy and resilient children.
Like never before, parents need to be informed with clear, fact-based information on the many challenges faced by today’s youth. Topics such as youth anxiety, depression, self-harm, drug and alcohol use, cyberbullying and many others need clear explanation and guidance.
SchoolTV is a new ongoing resource that is now available to our parents. Each edition will address a major topic with expert interviews, fact sheets, parent quiz, recommended apps, books and much more. SchoolTV aggregates information from many great resources such as BeyondBlue and ReachOut, amongst others. SchoolTV provides a single stream of independent factual information that saves parents time and confusion of searching online across multiple sites for information.

ART COMPETITION
PRIZE COLLECTION
Mrs Hofman and Miss Sampson will be at school on Monday 13th April, between 10am - 12pm, for families of our winners (including Highly Commended) who would like to come in and collect their certificates and prize packs from the front office (please ensure social distancing measures are adhered to). Any remaining certificates and packs will be made available on Monday 27th April when parents collect textbook packs from the auditorium.
DRUM ROLL ....
We are very excited to be able to bring you the winners and grinners of this year’s Art Competition. Perhaps even more exciting is the fact that we can announce that through your entries, we have been able to raise $430 for Caritas’ Project Compassion Lenten Appeal. This amount of money will be able to train 100 farmers in Malawi, increasing their communities access to food and ability to create their own income. We congratulate each one of you for the positive impact we can have on communities around the world!
We would like to pass on our appreciation to Officeworks Tamworth who generously donated our prize packs for first place. We would also like to pass on gratitude to Splash on Peel and the Tamworth Regional Gallery. Both were set to come on board as prize sponsors, however in the current climate we had to go with the flow. You are encouraged to please support these businesses. Splash on Peel are now delivering online workshops and the Tamworth Regional Gallery are kicking off a 14 day Kid’s Art Challenge beginning on Monday 13th April. More information can be found on their Facebook page. We look forward to working with these businesses next year.

STUDENT ABSENCE/ STUDENT SELF ISOLATION
If you haven't already done so could you please notify the school if your child/ren are self-isolating as we need to record this information on our school records as opposed to an unexplained absence.
You can do this in the following three ways ....
1. Telephone our office staff (office hours 8am to 4pm).
2. Email our office staff (admin@stnicholastamworth.catholic.edu.au).
3. Use the school website home page to send through a student absentee.
SUPERVISION OF STUDENTS
All parents need to be aware our supervision of students
does not begin until 8.15am each day.
Last year we became increasingly concerned that children were being dropped off and left on their own, unsupervised by parents before this time - often up to half an hour earlier. This is not a safe or acceptable practice. Currently students are expected to come in and sit in the Holy Family Courtyard unsupervised and wait. We cannot be responsible for any accident or potentially harmful incidents occurring. Please organise alternative care for your child if your child requires supervision before 8.15am.
