Duke of Ed – Wilsons Promontory Camp

Duke of Ed camp was an experience and a half! Of course the camp was fun and exciting because that stuff is expected from camps but this camp brought so many elements that you don't expect to come from “average” school camps. This camp was very challenging at times but with this came an accomplished feeling that I wouldn't trade for anything.  The hiking was especially difficult but with the help of my peers or as we say our “Duke of Ed family” we all accomplished the goals we had been striving for.

Other activities included kayaking, surfing and cooking all our own breakfasts, lunches and dinner, which to be perfectly honest with you was quite challenging in itself. My favourite activity personally was the night hike at the end of the day partly because we didn't have to carry our heavy packs that we had to for the day hikes, but mainly because we could bask in God’s glory just by looking up at the beautiful starry night. This camp has brought many stronger relationships with God, laughter and close friendships. It was definitely worth the sore backs and shoulders the next day!
