It's been great to join the staff team at St Andrews recently. I began a few weeks into Term 1 and have been enjoying getting to know staff and students and I look forward to serving the school community.
I grew up as an only child, raised by loving parents in suburban Melbourne and have been part of a church my whole life. However it wasn't until I was about 21 that I understood that God loved me so much that he sent his Son Jesus, who willingly died on the cross to take the punishment for my sins, and then rose to new life assuring me that God forgives me and that I will be with him forever. I thought that this was the best news ever! I accepted it for myself and wanted to tell others so became involved in youth ministry in the Anglican church. In 2004 I was ordained as an Anglican minister and for 12 years was part of the chaplaincy team at Ivanhoe Grammar School.
As well as working at St Andrews I am also part of the ministry team at our church (Holy Trinity Anglican in Doncaster) in a part-time capacity. It was there that I met my wonderful wife Olive. We have two boys aged 11 and 15. I enjoy all sorts of music, I'm a very "rusty" piano player, but my main hobby is astronomy (NB NOT astrology!). I have seen some wonderful examples of God's handiwork through my telescope (the rings of Saturn, for example) and would love to give members of the school community the opportunity to see these things too! I'll do my best to meet you sometime, but if you want to introduce yourself to me first, that's fine too!

Susan de Krester
Marketing and Communications Coordinator
Hello everyone I’m Susan de Kretser and just last week I started here as the new Marketing and Communications Coordinator working Wednesdays and Thursdays. The warmth of welcome and friendliness I’ve received already from the St Andrews community has me excited to see where God can lead me in this new role. I am extremely thankful to God for answered prayers and that He has brought me here following my recent year off work on maternity leave.
I have been connected to the Knox Community for as long as I can remember. I was raised alongside my two brothers by my Mum and Dad right here in Wantirna. Following High School I studied Primary Teaching at Deakin University before making a career change to Graphic Design. I enjoyed exercising my love for creativity, communication and ongoing love of learning new things, as a Senior Designer, for a number of years in a fast paced Collingwood design studio.
I’ve been blessed with a Christian upbringing and family environment that has always encouraged me to develop and grow in my relationship with Jesus. This month I’ll be celebrating my 6th year of marriage to my wonderful husband Keith, who I met through my One Hope church family back in 2005. We’re now both members of One Hope Community Church (in Scoresby) where I like to use my gifts working within the Children’s Ministry.
In 2014 Keith and I had a great time travelling. It was an amazing time getting to see the wonders of God’s creation across such different landscapes... from seeing Niagara Falls frozen in Winter to the grand magnificence of Machu Picchu in Peru to the lush tropical green mountains adorning the coastline of Rio De Janiero. Last year Keith and I became new parents to our son Charlie, a smiley joy-emitting boy who has recently turned one and learned to walk (keeping us busy and fit). I am loving the path God has created for me this year, being a back to work mum, and am glad to be sharing it with you here at St Andrews Christian College.
