Variety Show: Behind the Scenes

Behind the scenes interview:  

Zara Selby from 8A is a musician performing in the Carnival Variety Show.

Zara has been busy rehearsing during Term 2 preparing for the shows in August. Her performance consists of playing her Ukulele and singing 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' by Cyndi Lauper.

I have been showing up to the after school rehearsals as much as I can and constantly practicing my song at home. The overall theme of the variety show is a flashback from the 20's until now.

My favourite thing about participating in the whole school production has been meeting everyone and basically forming new friendships.

I haven’t found rehearsals or the preparation challenging, as I’m working solo but it did take a bit to get the band involved.

The most exciting thing about the production evenings in August, is seeing everyone’s work come into place and performing on the night.

Audiences can expect a night full of talent across many styles!

I would love to thank Ms. Thompson, Ms. Hardiman and Mr. Schembri for their hard work leading up to the production and helping all the students prepare.
