Principal's Report

Welcome

As we reach the end of term  I would like to thank the staff for their hard work over this term and wish the students a safe and happy break.

I have been extremely pleased with our students and the progress they have made during Term 2. While particular students will always require extra support, the behaviour of our students over the term has generally been excellent.  We are constantly attempting to engage our students and improve what we do in this area.

The students finish school next Friday.  Parents/carers, please note that on this day school will finish at 2.30pm.  Please make arrangements to pick your child up 30 minutes earlier than the normal time if you are collecting them from a bus stop or from school.

I look forward to seeing you all on Monday 16th July when we return to school to commence Term 3.

Sign In at Office When Arriving Late or Leaving Early

When students arrive at school after 9.00am or leave earlier than 3.00pm they are required to sign in or out at the office by filling out the ’Late Arrival’ or ‘Early Leavers’ book.  This should occur whether the students are with a parent/carer or not.  This helps us keep track of the students especially with their travel arrangements. It is requested that parents/carers reinforce the importance of this with their children.

EMail from the Community

Last week classes PMB and PJF went on an action packed three-day camp to Blackwood. I was delighted to receive this email from Nicole and Matthew, two members of the public who were dining at the Blackwood Pub on the same evening as our students and staff.

Good evening,

My husband and I were out for dinner tonight (Wed 13/6/18) at the Greendale Pub and came across a couple of tables of students and teachers from your school. We spend the majority of our time watching the kids and commenting on how extremely well behaved and lovely they all were. So polite and waiting very patiently for their dinners, listening to their teachers and just being wonderful kids.

Generally speaking, trying to enjoy dinner with a restaurant full of primary school aged kids would be somewhat chaotic (!) but we enjoyed ourselves so much and wanted to share our experience with you! I would love for this to be passed onto the young group and their teachers, who are all obviously doing such a wonderful job. Everyone should be very proud of this group.

Principal's Award

The Principal's Award goes to Sam Lagona

Sam is a great recipient of the Principal Award for term two. He has excelled in all areas of the Concord curriculum. He enjoys any work that is set out for him and always tries to work it out for himself before asking for help. He is always happy when he enters the classroom and is constantly contributes to classroom discussion.

Sam has also taken on a major role in this year’s Secondary Spectacular, Hairspray. He is taking his dancing and acting roles very seriously while still having fun. It is great to see such enthusiasm, especially from a year 7 student.

Well done Sam
