School Canteen Management

School Council has completed an extensive review process of the canteen operations and looked at the financial status over the last few years of its operations. The canteen has run at a small loss over the last few years and council determined that we should investigate all out options in terms of maintaining the facility as a school run canteen or outsourcing its operation.

A process was set up to investigate alternative solutions including consultation with the Australian School Canteen Association. The decision to go with an external provider was endorsed by the School Council after a thorough process to make this decision and to determine the best organisation to run this important facility for our school community. A number of school canteens were visited in order to determine the best fit for our school.  

The outcome of the process is that Jude Fina Foods, who manage over 30 school canteens throughout the area, will run our canteen. They have a focus on providing fresh products with minimal packaged food. They will begin their operations at the school from the start of the school year in 2020. 

We would like to sincerely thank the current staff Ms Linda Rose, Ms Milka Zelko, Ms Mirella Mamic and our student helpers with special thanks to our regular volunteer Hoang. We have appreciated their contributions in running the canteen and the dedication they have shown to providing our students and staff with a high level of service.
