End of Semester 2 Reports

All Year 7-11 end of Semester Reports are now available on Compass.  If you have not already done so, please ensure you read your son or daughter’s report and discuss their progress with them.  The feedback provided can be used as the basis for discussion about the performance of your child in each subject.

Congratulations to the many students who performed well as a result of good study habits and engagement in the learning process.  For those who feel they could improve, this is an opportunity to set some goals and work towards these throughout 2020.

It is important to note that the reports provide a summary of the progress of each student at this point in time and should be viewed as part of the overall educational journey of each individual student.  If you have any concerns about your child’s progress, please do not hesitate to contact their Year Level Coordinator.

Year 9 Poetry Slam

On Thursday 28 November, many Year 9 Teams took part in the annual poetry slam competition, which saw some very creative pieces presented to the entire year level and all their teachers. Rapper and musician Mantra was the MC of the event.  Mantra also conducted poetry workshops with the Year 9 classes in conjunction with Emilie Zoey Baker in the lead up to the final.

We have been very successful at the highest level in this competition in the past and it was wonderful to see such a range of students taking part and putting themselves out of their comfort zone in such animated performances.  Well done to all involved and to Ms Vicki Bunce for organising this opportunity for the students.

First place went to Eric Lui of 9H. Second place was split between two teams - Tina Phan, Luuly Tang, Huy Tran, Andy Xu, and Kenny Bach from 9E and Tina Vo, Huong Luong, Winney Tran, and Charlize Luang-Le from 9I.  The winner will compete against teams from other Victorian schools in the OutLoud Slam Poetry competition during the 2020 Melbourne Writers’ Festival.
