Middle School Report  

Students in Year 9 and 10 are now coming towards the last few weeks of their school year, and semester exams and tests will be taken over the next few weeks.  It will be a busy time, with lots of important events for Middle School students.

Year 9 Events

Following the great success of the City Experience this year, Year 9 students completed oral presentations in their Humanities classes based on their learning during the week. Students will be invited to present once more to the parents at the upcoming Awards and Showcase evening on Monday 9 December.  

The Better Man mentoring program run by Mr. Brendan McFarland has started for this term, with a number of Year 8 and Year 9 students being invited to engage in exercise and reflective practices sessions to improve communication, goal setting and engagement in learning. The lunches for teachers and students has been very well received by all those invited; congratulations to all those students who have been selected by their teachers in celebration of the positive relationships that have been built over the course of the year.

Students are now preparing themselves for their semester tests in their core subjects, and we wish them all the best over the next week.

Year 9 House Dance Competition – Monday 9 December

Year 9 Awards and Showcase Evening – Monday 9 December

Year 9 into 10 ‘Step Up Program’ – Wednesday 11 December – Friday 13 December

Last Day for Year 9 – Friday 13 December

Year 10 Events

Year 10 students will shortly be notified of their subjects for 2020 and informed of the arrangements for the VCE and VCAL orientation days over the next few weeks.  They are also preparing for the end of semester exams, and we wish them all the best in each of those exams.

The Year 10 Formal is also approaching and students are reminded to bring in permission forms and payments as soon as possible.  It is always an enjoyable night with games, dancing and a celebration of their time in Middle School.
