Goondiwindi Eisteddfod

On Wednesday 8th August, students from the Primary Choir and Secondary Singing Group attended the annual Goondiwindi Apex Eisteddfod to compete. Each group performed two pieces across a range of sections. Our students performed exceptionally well with the Primary Choir being awarded a Highly Commended for their piece 'Gecko' by Sherelle Eyles and a Third place for their rendition of the eisteddfod set piece 'Starfish'. Our secondary singing group placed First in both of their sections, performing the songs 'Ho Hey' by the Lumineers and 'Viva La Vida' by Coldplay. As a result of their high-quality performances, the Secondary Singing Group attained the award for 'Overall Champion Secondary School Choir'. Our students represented St Philomena’s School with pride, to a high standard and all had a very enjoyable and rewarding day. Mrs Carrigan and Mr King wish to congratulate all our choir members and are extremely proud of their efforts. Additional performances from both the Primary School Choir and Secondary Singing Group will be held at the upcoming St Philomena’s School M.A.D (Music, Art, Dance) Night on 19th September 2018 for all parents and friends to enjoy!
