Year 12 - final week activities!

Well what a week for our year 12! In the now traditional final week at school, we saw an array of cross dressing males, super heroes, childhood characters and even the odd president. All in good fun and a little release of pressure from a big year.

The final day started with a breakfast supplied by the school council and then the walk into school. The event perhaps most feared but always entertaining is the fashion parade and for the first time we had all our school come together for the spectacular. Dance routines and dramas rolled out over the next half hour and then a tough judging panel handed out their awards.

Next up was a whole school assembly in the gym to reminisce  about the days at school and it was lovely to see so many parents come along.  Mr Frye congratulated our class of 2017 for their efforts and wished them well with their exams and future endeavours. Then students, staff and parents had morning tea together.

Year 12 Hoodies 2018 (from Faye Cordy)

Following a process which involved the Year 11 Precinct Leaders the 2018 Hoodie is very close to being finalised.

Students will soon receive instructions about how to place their order using an on-line system which will require the use of a credit or debit card. The cost of the Hoodie is $76 plus a small card fee. Students will have had an opportunity to try on sample sizes prior to placing their order.

Year 7 & 8 Excursion to La Trobe University

On the first Friday of term, all year 7 and 8 students went on a free excursion to Latrobe University in Bendigo.

We started the day with an orientation experience and then we separated into our year levels to do different activities.

The year 7’s had a Q and A session with some of the students from the campus to get an insight into what university life is like while the year 8’s did a “Race around Latrobe” which was identifying different parts of the campus and seeing what opportunities they could take in the future.

All year levels then went and filled in a survey about what goals they may have in the future.   We filled out what we wanted to achieve and how we could get there with the help of some of the students. The survey also assessed what choices we would have to make and what skills, values and abilities we would need to get there.

Overall the experience enlightened all of the students and the opportunity was amazing.
