The Arrowsmith Program

WAYNE STAGG

Head of the Arrowsmith Program

In 2019, the Oakleigh Grammar Arrowsmith Program welcomed 10 new students: Sophie Athanasi, Kurt Tsalamandris, Larissa Xuereb, Camila Chliakhtine, Nicholas Haritos, Gabriel O’Connor, Borna Anic, Samuel Esson and Muhammad Al Amin. Welcome to these students and their families.

Students have begun to settle into the Arrowsmith Program and mainstream classes. It has been great to see current Arrowsmith students making our new students feel welcome and supported.

The Arrowsmith Information Night was held on Monday 11th February, and was a wonderful opportunity to hear more about the program in-depth, and meet the staff.

On February 21st, Drs Lara Boyd and Rachel Weber, along with Dr Greg Rose, will be presenting their research into the Arrowsmith program in New York City. The outcomes of this research will be available to the public after the event, and is an exciting development into the ongoing benefits of the Arrowsmith Program.

We wish all our students and families a happy and successful 2019, and look forward to working alongside you and your child in the Arrowsmith Program.

Please join the Arrowsmith Program as we host Dr. Greg Rose from Southern Illinois University, and Drs. Lara Boyd and Rachel Weber, both from University of British Columbia at a research presentation. All three academic leaders are currently undertaking research projects into various aspects of the Arrowsmith Program and its outcomes, and this presentation will focus on the following aspects of their work:

•Behaviour relationships in children with learning disabilities – Dr Lara Boyd

•Benefits of Arrowsmith Training on Brain Connectivity and Neuropsychological Measures – Dr Greg Rose

•Neurocognitive and Behavioural Outcomes of the Arrowsmith Program – Dr Rachel Weber

The Arrowsmith Program is a cognitive program dedicated to helping students struggling with learning disabilities.

This presentation is free and open to the public, and will be simultaneously live-streamed. For more information and to register please click here
