Junior Sub-School News

In the past two weeks students have had the opportunity to build a sense of community through Home Group challenges. The first Home Group challenge was a friendly competition of Basketball. The students showed enthusiasm and great sportsmanship throughout the games, but it was 7E that were ultimately victorious! 7C finished 2nd and 3rd as they were able to recruit enough players from their Home Group for two teams.

Currently, Home Groups have been working through a very challenging word search within Home Group time. The first Home Group to complete the word search will be our winners and collect points for their Home Group. The next home group challenge will be Trivia, in week five.

Week four saw the excitement continue with the implementation of the biannual Junior School House tug of war. After many rounds, a lot of tired bodies and some sore hands, Silver House emerged as the champions. We anticipate that the next few weeks will be just as action packed with camp coming up shortly. I look forward to updating you all on the outcomes of the coming weeks in future newsletters.

A few reminders:

Camp permission, medical forms and payments are due by Friday, 6 March.

Immunisations forms are still being collected and MUST be returned whether your child is receiving the immunisation or not.

Lastly, it is a requirement of NGSC that all students have a working iPad to use at school.

The Year 8 students have been busy with Home Group challenges and the growth program starting up. So far 8C has been the dominant Home Group winning both challenges including the basketball challenge. Congratulations 8C on a great start to the year, but also a special mention to 8A who have been the second best Home Group. We have the Year 8 leaders being announced at next week assembly, so please stay tuned.

Just a quick reminder that progress reports are coming out next week, so please keep an eye out on Compass.
