Principal's Report

Once again, it has been a very busy term, full of many opportunities for our students to learn and grow, both inside and outside the classroom. Term 3 ends today, Friday, September 22nd. Students will be dismissed at 2.30 p.m. Term 4 begins on Monday October 9th.

Our grade 5 and 6 students returned from camp on Thursday the 21st of September and from all reports it was a great experience for all students. A big thank you to the staff and parents who gave up their time to attend the camp. It is only through the dedication of our great staff that we can continue to offer such enjoyable programs for our students.

Also on Thursday the 21st  we had our year 9 Community Leadership Celebration night.  It was great to hear from our students.  They presented on the activities they participated in with the Salvation Army during term 3. The students were outstanding; a huge thank you to the year 9 English teachers Ms Chippett, Mr Kwong and Mr Fahey who supported the students in their learning.

It was good to see many parents and students at the parent-teacher interviews last week. Many staff commented that it was the best attended night for many years. Working in partnership helps us to ensure that our students are able to achieve their best.

The year is rapidly drawing to a close for students in Year 12 as they head towards their exams, which will commence at the start of November (Languages and Performance Based exams will commence earlier). It is important that students maintain their focus at this time of year, developing a systematic study timetable and making the most of the holiday period to prepare for their exams.

The College will be introducing a before school and after school care program in 2018. Many parents’ in particular new prep parents have indicated that it is a service that they would like. We have met with a number of providers over the last month and have chosen to partner with Youth Leadership Victoria to provide this service in 2018. More details about the program will be supplied in term 4.

The College is also very excited to introduce a new uniform for 2018. Samples of the uniform can be seen in the college foyer and further information about the introduction of the new uniform will be mailed home to parents.

I would like to wish all of our families a relaxing and enjoyable break.
