FAREWELL YEAR 12's

Wednesday 23rd October was the final day for our Year 12 students. The day commenced with breakfast followed by the Farewell Assembly at 2.00pm. Thank you to all the parents and families who attended the assembly. Exams commenced this week and I would like to wish all our Year 12 students good luck for the remaining exams and their chosen pathways for the future. We look forward to the Valedictory dinner coming up Thursday, November 21st at 7.00pm at The Terrace Room: Sherbourne Terrace.

VACCINATIONS

Final vaccinations for Year 7 and 10 students were given on October 18th. Students who were absent on the day or forgot to return their immunisation cards can still receive their immunisation at no cost by going to the catch-up session on Thursday 21st November 2019, from 4.30 PM at Senior Citizens Centre, 120 Welsford Street, Shepparton.

COURSE COUNSELLING FOR YEAR 9 2020

On Friday October 25th students from Year 8 attended course counselling with their parents to choose from the 81 electives on offer at Greater Shepparton College: Mooroopna Campus next year. The day was well attended and the room was buzzing with excitement about the opportunities available next year.

ATTENDANCE: IT'S NOT OK TO BE AWAY!

Going to school every day is the single most important part of a child’s education. Students learn new things at school every day – missing school puts them behind. An important reminder for all students is that a minimum attendance rate of 90% has been set. If any student does not achieve 90% attendance it is quite likely that the student will be asked to repeat the year.  Arrangements will be made for students who may suffer long term illness, however long term holidays will not be exempt from the 90% rule, unless arrangements are put in place to send work to teachers during the absence.

Families who are planning an extended holiday overseas will be required to complete a notification form at the general office advising a return date to school and assurance that they have obtained school work to continue during their absence, so that their education is not compromised.

SUNSMART IN TERM 4 – HATS

A reminder to all that Term 4 is a Sunsmart Term. This means that a broad brimmed hat must be worn by all students when out in the yard during recess, lunchtime and when taking part in outdoor sports and PE. Please make sure you dust off the hats or purchase a new one if necessary.  Baseball caps are not permitted.

Year 9 2020 Transition Program - for current Year 8 Students

Commencing the week of Monday 11th November, all current Year 8 students from Wanganui Secondary College, McGuire Secondary College, Shepparton High School and Mooroopna Secondary College will be visiting the Mooroopna Campus for three weeks of transition.
