Drama, Media & College Production

2014 has been another

big year for students at St Bede’s College in the Learning Areas of Drama & Media in Years 7 -10, in VCE Media and Theatre Studies and the College musical production of “Guys and Dolls”.

Students have enthusiastically participated in a range of creative and dramatic activities designed to challenge and engage them in the media and performing arts and in true ‘Beda Boy’ tradition they have risen to the occasion and displayed their very best.

Well done to Patrick Larkin of Yr 12, Matthew Carlson of Yr 11 and Brodie Linford of Yr 10 for wining Media Awards at this year’s Art, Media and Technology Show.

Special thanks to our Drama and Media staff of Loreta Murphy, Adrian Birrell, Amanda Kidson Page, Kerry O’Gara, Jamie Parton and Katrina Renouf who have inspired, cajoled and encouraged our young men to take chances in expressing themselves in the arts, often with very surprising and entertaining results.

I am especially proud and thankful for the efforts of the students and staff involved in the College production of “Guys and Dolls” and also wish to acknowledge the fine efforts of Matthew Ryan who is this year’s recipient of the Fennessy Brothers Award for outstanding contribution to the production in the area of Sound Management and Operation.
