Library

The library has been buzzing with students visiting to study, borrow books from the new collections and catch up with friends in the reading and gaming spaces.  We have opened the library to students again at lunch time, even though the number has been restricted due to Covid safe practices.

Students have noticed two new collections, both of which are still under development.  The first is the Graphic Novel and Manga collection, increasingly popular with students. We have encouraged students to recommend titles and have purchased as many of those as possible. Our aim is to double the current collection by the end of the year.  The other new collection is aimed at students in Year 10 and above. The senior fiction collection has a more adult feel allowing student’s choice of reading material to mature as they do.

Over the coming months, further changes will be seen in the library space. During this time, student voice is vital - after all, this space is for them to use.  Any suggestions students have about activities that can be held in the library, books we should purchase or any other library related ideas will be considered.

Important reminders.

Please return all books borrowed before the lockdown period. Overdue notices have been sent to home group teachers.

From the first of December, students will not be able to borrow new books. This is to allow library staff to begin the collection stocktake.
