STUDENT VOICE 2
SRC Constitution
The return for all students back to onsite learning was etched into SRC history with the SRC voting on its constitution. It was passed unanimously. This was a great achievement as the students had been putting the constitution together since last year and have put a lot of passion and thought into how best to structure it to reflect their agency, governance and voice. The constitution will serve as the backbone of how the SRC runs and what it stands for. Congratulations to the SRC!

SRC Year 12 Care Packages
The Student Representative Council (SRC) recognised that this year was a tough one for all students. In particular, it was even tougher on the year 12 students as they couldn’t take part in the activities that they usually do in their final year of secondary schooling. The younger students in the SRC took the initiative to do something to boost our Year 12 student’s morale and took part in making care packages for them. These care packages included a diary, pen, highlighter, cookie, snacks, chocolate, fancy tea and an airplane stress ball. The SRC stapled a note onto each package that read the following:
Dear CESC year 12 Student,
We know that this year has been like no other.
We also know that you didn’t get the big deal that you deserve having completed 13 years of education.
We also need you to know that you are the most resilient Year 12 cohort this school has ever had.
We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavours, whatever they may be.
This is a little care package to get you started.
Respect!
From your Student Representative Council.
These were put together over a two-week period. Many students came along and helped to create the packages over the week during lunchtime and recess.
During the Year 12 final assembly, Layla Cerna and Wajiha Musa (Year 8 Student Year Level Leaders) gave a very uplifting and close to the heart speech congratulating the Year 12’s on their massive accomplishment this year. After the speech other student leaders in the SRC went to all the Year 12 Homegroups and gave each student their package. It was a delightful addition to the assembly! Well done to all those that took part.
