What we’ve been up to at OSHC!

Celebrating Hawaiian Culture

In week 6 one of the students suggested that we have a week surrounding the beach and Hawaiian Culture! So this week some of the activities done in OSHClub to fit our theme were: Beach Cupcakes, baked and decorated by the students to look like a beach front. We used the sand pit to create a beach landscape using beach equipment, towels and funny costumes. And we learnt about the history behind Hula dancing.

Mindfulness Minutes

As the weather continues to get better and better, we have been doing our mindfulness minutes outside when we get the chance. Mindfulness Minutes has now become a routine exercise in our OSHClub programming, as it gives all students the time to wind down after a long day at school and have a much calmer afternoon.

NAIDOC Week

NAIDOC week was held from the 8th - 15th November this year, and so to do our part in celebrating the National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee, we decided to read a different aboriginal written and illustrated book each afternoon.

Homework Club 

Tuesday Afternoon: 4.30pm-5.30pm

If your children need any help with their homework, please feel free to speak to Lachie or Laura about how we can help them!  We are always willing to give your child some extra support with projects or readers if they need!

Staff Updates 

Over the next three weeks, Laura will be away at Resurrection School in Keysborough to complete her latest teaching round. During this time, Lachie and Jiselle will oversee the service, continuing to run a fantastic program for the children!
