From the Head of Sport

This weekend brings our last round of ISA sport for the term. This week I would like everyone to focus on uniforms. The way you wear your uniform is a reflection of the pride you have in both yourself and your school. Let’s raise the bar for our final week of games this term.

Congratulations

NSW CIS CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS (2022)

Last Wednesday, ten BMGS students made the journey down to Eastern Creek to take part in the 2022 NSW CIS Cross Country Championships. Pitted against the best runners from Independent schools from across the state, the challenge was always going to be steep, as anywhere between 70 to 100+ runners competed in each race to vie for a handful of places in the CIS team to go onto the NSW All Schools Championships.  We wish Casper, Keeden and Tasman - who made it through in their respective races - all the best at the NSW All School Carnival, to be held next month.

School Sport Australia Triathlon

I am very excited to announce that Casper Larkin (Year 11) has been selected as reserve for the NSW State Team to compete at the School Sport Australia Triathlon Championships. The Championships will take place from 6th to 9th September in Hervey Bay, Queensland. It is hoped that a position becomes available for Casper to compete at this event. Casper is to be congratulated on his continued success in Triathlon.

Athletics Carnival

BMGS ran their annual Athletics Carnival on Thursday this week. It was a very successful day with high participation from those students who attended. A big thank you is extended to all staff and parent volunteers who gave up their time to help with the efficient running of the Carnival. Your help is greatly appreciated.

The ISA Athletics Carnival will be held in Term 3 so please stay fit and if you came first in a Field event or 1st or 2nd in a Track event you will be part of the BMGS team to go to ISA level.

Everybody can now start thinking about the Swimming Carnival!
