Fathering Project
Thank you to all those who attended and/or showed interest in our event on Thursday 9th June, to launch The Fathering Project at Aberfeldie Primary School.
With over 100 adults and children braving the cold, to munch their way through 18 large pizzas, ten garlic breads, plus chips and more; as well as make hundreds of paper planes; we consider this first event a success. It was pleasing to see each year group represented strongly among our participants, and some smiling faces in the gym.
My thanks to Nathan and Scott, as well as North & Eight and Calmer Cafe for the prizes - and to all of you for showing your support to this new initiative.
In Term Three (early September) there will be a Father's Day breakfast, and in Term Four (late November) some form of Summer social. All suggestions welcome! We will also be working in closely with the fundraising committee and school, to suitable coordinate all dates.
The school has subscribed in the Fathering Project portal which gives us all access to a great range of resources: thefatheringproject.org then search under "Aberfeldie".
Our purpose is, and will remain, to help our recovery as a parent school community through events and relationship building.
Regards
Nick Field
