AROUND THE SCHOOL

We are never alone in sharing the faith, because it is the Lord with me who transmits the faith, and Jesus promised: “I will be with you every day until the end of the world.”

- Pope Francis

Term 3 -  Welcome back everyone.  We hope that you all had a relaxing break.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE BUS LOOP AT THE LEONGATHA SECONDARY COLLEGE

It has come to our attention that some parents/carers have been driving into the bus loop at the Leongatha Secondary College to pick their children up.  Please note that under NO circumstances should cars enter the bus loop.

If children need to be crossed off the bus list, please contact us by the end of the school day so we can get messages to children not to catch the bus and for them to be marked off the bus list for that particular afternoon.  Bus duty teachers also carry their phones with them, so we can get messages to children via the duty teacher if there has been a last minute change at the end of the school day.

SIBLING ENROLMENTS FOR 2023 OPEN

Please pick up an enrolment form and return to school as soon as possible.

Enrolments for new families are open now.

Do you know someone who is interested in enrolling at St Laurence's?  Please encourage them to pick up an enrolment pack or to make an appointment will Liz for a tour and chat as soon as possible.

P & F FUNDRAISER EVENING

This will be our first social event for a couple of years, so the P & F are very excited to be hosting a dinner (RSL) and movie night (Stadium 4).  The movie is 'Where the Crawdads Sing', rated M, so not suitable for children.    The book was amazing, so can't wait to see the movie.

Dinner:  If you can make it to dinner, please let Michelle know via text (0417 325 304) so numbers can be confirmed.  Dinner can be paid at the venue.   The movie is payable via CDFpay.  Come to one or both.  We'd love to see you.  RSVP for dinner by

JUMP ROPE FOR HEART JUMP OFF DAY

Thank you to ALL the students who got involved with Jump Rope for Heart!  A huge thank you for skipping and fundraising for the Jump Rope for Heart program last term.

Together we raised an incredible $8939.00 and this money will all go towards vital heart research and education programs.

We loved seeing so many smiling faces in the playground, and together we recorded an amazing 157 + hours of skipping during the 5 weeks.

Our Jump off Day was a huge success, seeing the improvement of our students throughout the program was truly remarkable. It was lovely to see everyone being active and enjoying themselves!

Well Done to all!!

Thank you Mrs Hutchinson for running this very successful program.

SPORTS

State Cross-Country

Good luck to Rachel Denbrok and Zara Gannon who will be competing in the State Cross-Country Championship to be held in the Yarra Glen tomorrow (Thursday 14th) . Both girls have worked hard and done very well to reach this level.

PRAYER

I come before you, oh Lord, and drink in this moment of peace, that I may carry something of your hope, love, and joy today in my heart.

Lord, grant me tenacious winsome courage as I go through this day.

When I am tempted to give up, help me to keep going.

Grant me a cheerful spirit when things don't go my way.
