Junior School Music Night

Last Friday the Junior School Music Night highlighted the boy’s work in performing arts in string ensembles, bands, and choral singing. These events provide an excellent opportunity for the boys to perform in front of an appreciative audience and they rose to the occasion. We are indeed fortunate, to have such dedicated and talented music teachers. A special acknowledgement must go to Mrs Ann Clarke who shares her love and passion for music with the boys which was obvious in their performances.

Musica Viva Incursion

On Monday 20th June, Junior School will be treated to a live performance by Taikoz: a traditional Japanese taiko drumming group. We are certainly looking forward to this great cultural incursion.

Year 4 Catapult Competition

Mrs Stalley has an amazing and innovative collection of catapults designed and created by the Year 4s. The boys will test out catapults next week and will hold a competition to see which design can fly a marshmallow the greatest distance. They will then have a grand finale, commencing at 9.40am next Wednesday, 22nd June, in front of the Pavilion.  Mrs Stalley has organised guest judges. Parents are very welcome to attend.

JPSSA Cross-Country

Good luck to the boys who are representing the College next week for the JPSSA Cross Country Competition on Thursday 23rd June. A big thank you to Mr Thompson who has been training the boys before school. Aquinas College are hosting the event with courses that take advantage of the natural bushland. All events start and finish at Memorial Oval.  Parent spectators are directed to enter through the main entrance off Mt Henry Road, Salter Point.

Year 4 Blue Mass

Thank you to the boys in Year 4 Blue for leading the Junior School in Mass today. The Junior School Masses are always a prayerful and joyous community occasion, and it is wonderful to see many parents in attendance.

Year 4 Green Assembly

Thank you to Year 4 Green for a wonderful and very creative assembly in Gibney Hall today. How wonderful that Mr Quin had also organised the author of the story, Meg McKinley to attend.  Next week 5 Green will present their assembly in Braham Auditorium commencing at 2.30pm.

Influenza A

Further to my parent communication during the week, we have had a confirmed case of Influenza A in the Year 6 cohort. This virus is highly contagious. Teachers have been reminding boys of good hygiene practices. Please keep your son home if he is sick and consult a doctor if he has symptoms.

Prefects Corner

By Ethan Byrne and Kobe-Peppin Jackson

What a wonderful week at school for the boys!

On Sunday it was the Trinity Sunday Mass. It was a great mass. Some the boys alter served as well as some people reading. It was followed by a morning tea.

On Tuesday, the Year 5s were lucky enough to go to Sci-Tech for the day. They learnt lots of things about science and their excursion was fun.

On Wednesday we had sport training to prepare for their fixture on Thursday. Also on Wednesday, some of the Junior School Prefects led some tours throughout the Junior School for student that may be coming to Trinity.

On Thursday, the boys had their PSA sport fixture against Christ Church. On Friday, it was the second class assembly for the year hosted by Year 4 Green class.
