Fathers Day Stall

Father's Day will be celebrated on Sunday 3rd September, so our Fisher students have organised a Father's Day Stall to say thanks to all the dads, grandads or other important men in our lives.

Gifts range in price from $1-$5. We also have a selection of cards and gift bags. Our stall will be open during Week 6 (Monday 28th August - Friday 1st September) at both recess and lunch times.

Reception and Mellor students can come during recess while Torrens and Fisher students are asked to come during lunch times. Hopefully this reduces waiting times.

We ask that students purchase items early in the week to avoid disappointment.

Meal Deal Day

Fisher students have organised a Meal Deal Day for Friday 25th August. The Meal Deal costs $6. All students should have received an order form, please ensure that it is returned to the office by Friday 18th August.

No Vili's orders available on the 25th August.

Torrens Technologies

This semester, M.Tech (Monday Technologies) in Torrens will be aligned with HASS and be structured for students to build their sense of community and responsibility.

Torrens students have been given the task of identifying ways of benefiting our school community. These could include wanting to improve the appearance of a targeted area, creating flexible learning spaces or developing creative activities or play spaces for students at lunch and recess.

To complete our projects, we are looking for donations of:

  • Plastic bottle caps
  • Bags of medium round rocks
  • Bags of pebbles
  • Plants - cuttings or seedlings
  • Potting mix
  • Wool
  • String
  • Outdoor paint
  • Paint brushes
  • Small garden utensils
  • Gardening gloves
  • Boxes of rubber gloves
  • Bamboo screening
  • Timber
  • Old wooden benches or stools

We would also appreciate utilising skills from the community to assist with more complex projects, such as building frames, painting, etc. Or those that are interested in helping groups of students with planting or craft. Please contact a member of the Torrens staff if you are interested.

Staff Cark Park Fence

Governing Council through consultation with staff, OHSC and Lockleys Children's Centre have decided to install a safety fence around the staff car park to ensure the safety of students, families and staff.

The cark park is regularly used as a thoroughfare during busy periods  and is also accessed by OHSC students after school when cars are leaving.

Once the fence is installed access will be restricted to staff and visitors on site business.  We ask families that use OHSC to park on Malurus Ave to drop off and pick up their children.

We appreciate everyone's understanding as we work to ensure the safety of everyone on our site.
