AUSLAN

AUSLAN CLUB

This term in Auslan club we have been working on our signing and practising our national anthem song. We are progressing each week by practising and showing up to Auslan club.

We believe learning Auslan is important because it teaches us how to be respectful and communicate with others who are hearing impaired.

These are some things we like about Auslan:

  • I think it is fun and I like being able to communicate with the hearing impaired Gabby, 4A
  • It is really important and I like being able to use sign language so I can understand hearing impaired people
  • I like being able to know how to help others through learning Auslan, because when I started I didn’t know many signs
  • I like that is easier to communicate with others with disabilities through using Auslan and I love performing at assembly
  • I like being in Auslan club so I can speak with the group and share my ideas
  • I am looking forward to learning new signs and communicating with others with hearing impairments, and also performing at assembly
  • Evie, 4B

If there are any Year 3 or 4 students who would like to participate in Auslan club it is on Tuesday lunch times in the Year 1 area with Shannon.
