A MIDSUMMER NIGHTS' DREAM
A Midsummer Night’s Dream – is one of Shakespeare’s most loved comedies. The storyline centres around three storylines that are woven into each other in a hilarious way. In the mortal world, there is a celebrity wedding being planned, an arranged marriage where the young woman loves another, a woman who loves the man that loves her friend instead and a group of amateur actors who are also tradies rehearsing a play to be performed at the wedding. They all end up in a magical forest inhabited by mischievous fairies and woodsprites, who are lead by the fairy King and Queen who happen to be fighting. In the fairy Kings’ desire to punish his Fairy Queen he gets his sidekick to start casting lovespells that go wrong and the resulting chaos affects both the young lovers and the amateur actors, making for a very entertaining play.
We have added a modern twist and have added some music and dance and our cast and crew are really looking forward to presenting their hard work to the school community after the holidays.
