Congratulations to our 16 students who qualified for the Combined High Schools (CHS) State Championships in Week 11. This is the largest contingent to represent our school and region at these championships. We wish them the best of luck.
Water Polo
Our Opens Boys and Girls Water Polo teams competed at the Regional Water Polo Championships recently. All students had a great day with their skills and teamwork improving with each match.
Both our Boys and Girls teams had difficult games first up against last year’s regional champions, and this was made all the more difficult considering that the first time some of our students touched a water polo ball was during their first game. Still, our students took to it like a fish to water and our boys managed to improve every game to finish as the second best team in the region. Our girls used this opportunity as a learning experience with a large number of the team eligible for the under 15's tournament later this year. They managed to show improvement in every match to finish a commendable 4th in the region.
Boys: Finished 2nd in the region
L 3-1 Picnic Point
D 3-3 Bass
W 3-1 Prairiewood
W 6-1 Elderslie
Girls: Finished 4th in the region
L 8-1 Picnic Point
L 4-1 Prairiewood
L 7-1 East Hills Girls
L 10-1 Elderslie (Win on account of rep players helping Elderslie).
A big thank you to Mr Hickey for taking these teams. Our students love water polo and are super keen to continue participating.
Futsal
Our Opens Boys and Girls Futsal teams competed at the Football NSW Futsal Regional Championships recently. The boys team made the semi-finals while the Girls team was crowned Regional Champions! They will now compete at the State Championships in July.
Futsal is a sport widely embraced by the students here at our school and we will continue to foster the development of our students.
Rugby League
Congratulations to our combined Year 7/8 rugby league team who went undefeated in three games at the recent Chris Lawrence Cup competition. The boys played extremely well in all matches and created history by winning the first rugby league competition in our school’s existence. A big thank you to Mr Dunn for coaching this team.
