Religious Education

Thank you to all the Year 5 students,  their families and to the many staff members who shared Sunday’s Mass. This week I look forward to working with the Year 2 families on Wednesday as we have our Prayers in Pyjamas night, starting at 6:30pm, upstairs in the Open Learning Area.  On this evening the families will have an opportunity to develop their faith together as they participate in four activities, focusing on songs for our Mass on Sunday, a reflection of Sunday’s Gospel, Christian mindfulness and a shared art activity. Sunday’s Mass will start at 5pm and there will be a cake stall afterwards.

Again I warmly invite you to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption Mass with us on Wed 15th August.

I encourage you all to have a look at the wonderful Prayers of the Faithful on display in the foyer. The children are well under way in their Eucharist preparation.

SOCIAL JUSTICE LEADERS

The Social Justice Leaders from Prep to Year 5 will have a meeting in the next week to outline our term 3 goals and how we are going to achieve them. I am currently exploring ways of supporting a local Catholic primary school in regional New South Wales, experiencing drought, in partnership with the Year 3's as their Faith Life Unit is ‘World Wide Web’.  I am hoping to use technology to support another community and to let them know that they are not alone. If you have any contacts please let me know.  More information will follow.

CONDOLENCES

Our thoughts and prayers are offered to James, Alex, Hannah and Zoe C - 3D on the recent death of their sister-in-laws mother, Vicky KIng.

May she rest in peace.
