Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Below is what I wrote yesterday, this morning I read it back and thought to myself, I was feeling a lot more positive yesterday before the lockdown was announced. Having said that I’m sure we will be back again very soon. I was in a briefing this morning and the department is planning that schools will be back face to face on Wednesday, but they did add that there are of course no guarantees for that.

We have decided to provide remote learning lessons for Monday and Tuesday without live google meets. If the lockdown is extended, we will go back to doing live google meets starting on Wednesday. Teachers will keep parents informed of any changes to the remote learning routines.

Welcome back,

It has been an amazing start to the term with the school slipping straight back into learning mode. Our students really understand that learning is the priority which is why the school has very few behaviour issues. Our school values of high expectations and respect are evident everyday by our students and teachers.

Looking at our whole school data, our half year results are extremely good and demonstrate what a fantastic job our teachers and our parent community are doing.  As always it is with pride that I walk around the school listening to the enthusiastic learning that is going on in our classrooms.

High Expectations and Respect

I highlighted all of the students who received perfect results on their high expectations and respect report at the end of semester 1, as this is a massive achievement.

These students represent a range of abilities across the whole school, but the thing that they all have in common is that they always try their best and they always show respect to themselves and others. You can see how difficult it is to obtain perfect results as only a small number of students achieved it.

Congratulations to the following students who received perfect results:

Janna Rodriguez,

Lily-Mae Archibald

Production

The preparations for our 3 – 6 school production are starting to fire up.  This year we will again be utilising the fantastic skills our staff have to run the production.  Our directors are Rachael Cantwell and Deeon Toogood but many more of our staff will be involved including the incredible Cheryl who always looks after the props and costumes.

The theme for this year’s production is ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ and auditions took place late last term.

I will keep you up to date in each newsletter with more information regarding our production.

Stay safe and dive into the wonderful world of a book! I’m currently reading another Peter Fitzsimons book, The Catalpa Rescue.
