Principal's Report
TIME FLIES WHEN YOU ARE HAVING FUN!
Well it feels like only yesterday when we were beginning the term and yet here we are, now at the end of a busy and productive term 2. We have achieved a lot throughout this term and I am so incredibly proud of the progress our students have made with their learning and also in the improvements they have made in their behaviour both in and out of the classroom as well.
We have faced many challenges throughout the term, such as a return to remote learning which was shortly followed by that incredible storm that we had, and it was wonderful to see how we all worked together to get through these challenges and keep learning happening for our students.
As we come to the end of the term, I would like to acknowledge and thank our hardworking staff team who give their all always and who work hard to ensure an engaging learning environment for all students – you are all amazing and on behalf of our school community, I thank you!
PARENT/TEACHER INTERVIEWS
On Wednesday afternoon/evening we held our term 2 parent/teacher interviews and I would like to say a huge thank you to each and every one of you who attended these interviews on Wednesday.
Parent/teacher interviews are a great opportunity to celebrate you child’s progress and understand the next steps in their learning and as such, we all appreciate you taking the time to attend these interviews.
TABLOID SPORTS DAY AND BBQ LUNCH TOMORROW
To celebrate the end of a great term here at Launch, we are holding a tabloid sports day and BBQ lunch for our students. We will begin the day at 9am with our final assembly for the term, which our parents and carers are now able to attend again (however face masks must still be worn). Our students will then break off into 9 multi-age groups where they will participate in 9 different activities for the morning. At 1pm, students will have the opportunity to enjoy a free BBQ lunch (we have allowed for 2 sausages in bread, and 1 juice box per child). All students will still need to bring a recess snack to school and they are also welcome to bring along their own lunch if they would prefer too. We are very much looking forward to a fun day on Friday.
TERM 2 SCHOOL HOLIDAY BREAK
The term 2 school holiday break will begin on Friday the 25th of June. School will finish early TOMORROW at 2.30pm and as such, students will need to be collected at this time.
Term 3 will begin on Monday the 12th of July.
We hope everyone has a great holiday and that you all have some time to relax and recharge over the next 2 weeks.
THANK YOU FOR AN AMAZING TERM 2!
As tomorrow will be my last day at Launch, this will be my final newsletter as well. It has been an incredible term and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity I was given to come and work with the amazing staff, students and parent community here at Launch. I have really enjoyed getting to know everyone here and I will always look back fondly on the time I have spent here throughout the term. My next adventure has me heading to Ballarat North Primary School for the next 3 terms, and while I am excited to be starting this next chapter of my life, I am incredibly sad to leave here tomorrow and to say good-bye to all the fantastic people I have met along the way.
So, before I go, I just wanted to thank all of our parents and carers for your support throughout the past term. I have really valued the opportunity to get to know you all and work alongside you to have such a fabulous term 2. We really do have a wonderful school and school community here at Launch and I wish you all the very best for the remainder of the 2021 school year.
I hope you all have a fantastic school holiday break ahead and I look forward to hearing all about the wonderful things happening at Launch in the future.
