In The Art Room

After a short stint of Remote and Flexible Learning, students were excited to return to the class room where they enjoyed some hands on learning, working with clay.

Term 3 sees 7A students studying Medieval and Gothic Art and Gargoyles. Using clay as their medium, students are in the process of modelling their own "Protector Creature". With a focus on the elements of shape and texture, each sculpture needs to demonstrate the individual's scoring and blending skills. Students also need to consider the weight ratio of their piece and utilise different ceramic tools to create a variety of textural surfaces.

After researching Gargoyles in their different forms there were some interesting creatures taking shape around the room. We look forward to seeing the completed pieces in the coming weeks.
