The VBC music department in conjunction with ‘Kool Skools’ will be running the first ever Song Writing and Band competition.
The best acts will be selected to spend the day professionally recording at Empire Music Studios on September 13th. The tracks will be part of an album produced for Viewbank College and something you’ll be able to own and share.
The project is open to ALL genres and different types of musical acts (bands, solo, rap, electronica…anything!) and I encourage anyone who is interested to enter and give it a shot.
Winning entries will be decided by September 3rd so please let Mr Krieg know if you’re planning to be involved ASAP. Any questions, help or feedback, drop into Music Club near G12 every Tuesday and Thursday at first break.
Your song will go into the entry for the state-wide ‘Kool Skools’ awards and you may be selected to perform at their big annual event at the end of the year. This project is an excellent opportunity for students and could even springboard your music career! Get writing and rehearsing today!
Send a demo or a link to your song to tom.krieg@education.vic.gov.au . More info about the project and the studio can be found at www.koolskools.com.au
