Co-curricular Update
The current COVID-19 situation has led to a change in how we go about our daily lives and has resulted in some of our routine activities going on hiatus. One such area is the College’s Co-curricular Program. That said, I would encourage all our boys to try to remain both physically and mentally fit and wherever possible, continue to take part in healthy areas of interest.
To assist and bring some degree of normality to the daily lives of our boys, staff are currently working to provide opportunities for our students to engage in our Co-curricular offerings.
I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge, commend, and thank Mr Calavassy, Mr Locke, Dr Taylor, Ms Duff, Ms Daley, Ms Lombardo and the various MIC’s who have worked tirelessly to prepare for the recommencement of such activities. Boys are to note that Band and Orchestral Programs along with the Social Justice Action Group (SJAG) are scheduled to recommence online from Monday 2 August. Ms Duff and the Theatresport coaches will soon be contacting students from Years 5 to 8 to gauge their level of interest prior to setting up a Microsoft Teams meeting and preparing for online activity.
Furthermore, I have been informed that there has been a great response to the Co-curricular Sport page on Canvas and would encourage all boys to use this resource.
Tokyo Olympics 2020
Congratulations to Se-Bom Lee ('18) who finished 2nd in his heat for the Men’s 400m Individual Medley. An outstanding achievement and one that is thoroughly deserved given his dedication and perseverance. It was also very pleasing to hear that former Olympian, Julian Carroll ('59) was also cheering on Se-Bom from his home in Belgium.
CSP Strength and Conditioning – Farrell Room Instructors
As many of you are aware, St Patrick’s College students are offered opportunities to train with the Complete Strength and Performance (CSP) instructors in the Farrell Room daily during the College term. Given the current restrictions, Todd Luibinskas ('01), a Director of CSP, has put together a training package as an extension of what the firm is currently supplying to our boys. Please follow the link below for further details and note that those wishing to make use of this resource do so on a user-pay basis:
