Welcome back to Term Three! I hope that everyone managed to find some time to relax and enjoy some family time.
We are currently living in some very uncertain times with the current COVID situation around the rest of the country making everyone feel uneasy. Our students can pick up on these uncertain times and although they don’t specifically talk about it, particularly the younger students, it can often cause some students stress and anxiety. Please let us know if you feel your child might be experiencing some of these feelings as we are here to support you. Listed below are some useful links that may support you through these uncertain times.
Mount Carmel Day Celebrations
What fun we had on the last day of Term to celebrate Mount Carmel Day! The buzz and excitement around the school was evident early that morning when students started to arrive.
We started our celebration with a whole school Mass with Father Shammi leading us in prayer. After recess the primary school gathered in the Hall for the much anticipated Kahoot Quiz where we saw the team who named themselves after one of our favourite year five teachers “Miss Sluyters” take out the victory. In the afternoon we held our “Mini Fair” which was a huge success! The variety of stalls ranged from sponge throwing, nail painting, spin the wheel, lucky jars, coin toss and lots more! Thank you to our teachers and students who organised their stall and participated on the day with such enthusiasm and a massive thank you to our families who supported the fair with donations. We raised over $700 which will go towards the charities that Father Jesse supports.

Fire Education
During the last week of Term 2 we had Fireman Drew from the Tasmania Fire Service (TFS) visit our school to present a Home Fire Safety Program for our Prep to Year 6 students. The program delivered some key messages around fire safety through fun and interactive lessons. Students were given an activity book to take home so that they could discuss with families what they had been learning throughout their class sessions.
