Tertiary Open Days

Now is the time to start planning and registering for the upcoming tertiary Open Days running through to September

Attending these tertiary info events is highly recommended as they provide a unique and valuable opportunity to explore course options and learn about courses of interest from academics and current students, plus explore the services and facilities the tertiary institutions have to offer. See the below document for a list of the 2021 Open Days and advice on Getting the most out of an Open Day Please note: some of them are running online and others have limited on-campus capacity so students are encouraged to register for as many as possible to receive notifications from the institutions about their Open days and any necessary changes in response to COVID restrictions.

Victorian Tertiary Admission Centre (VTAC) Resources:

There are some myths about senior schooling that kids and parents will find helpful to know. To read about these myths take a look at this article which is the first in a series from The Conversation providing school students with evidence-based advice for choosing subjects in their senior years. 

RMIT Early Offer program for 2022 Entry 

RMIT’s Early Offer Scheme values the entire experience of a student and provides diverse opportunities for students to leverage their acquired skills into their future career and find the right journey to their desired learning outcome. The application process is summarised below and further details along with a list of eligible courses are found on the RMIT website here. Students must refer to the application guide and then can apply for one course using the online early offer application form. Applications close 30 August and Early offers will be released by 24 September 2021. RMIT Early offers are conditional on students completing Year 12, meeting the course prerequisites, and attaining the ATAR required. Students must also make a VTAC application.

 

The application process requires students to – 

1. Address two of five of the following categories: 

• Leadership 

• Creative Thinking and Innovation 

• Interpersonal Skills and Teamwork 

• Communication 

• Analytical and Critical Thinking 

2. Write a 200-word statement of their experience for each of the two chosen categories. 

3. Supply supporting documentation verifying their involvement in the two categories they have written about.

PCA Cadetship opportunities in Melbourne

This year Professional Cadetships Australia (PCA) is offering opportunities for a cadet placement in Melbourne at UBS, a top-ranking global bank. 

Students apply for the cadetships under the PCA Business Cadetships in Melbourne Program. Applications are made online here and close September 1 2021. These cadetships provide cadets with paid employment while they undertake university studies at the university of their choice in Melbourne. 

 

PCA Business Cadets may choose to study economics, commerce, business, computer science and technology, mathematics or the humanities. Learn more about the exciting Cadetship opportunities available from PCA by taking a look at this video and website explaining everything you need to know.

Applications to study at NIDA in 2022 

NIDA offers an unmatched range and depth of industry-relevant training across performing arts disciplines including undergraduate and vocational courses in: actingcostume, design, make-upmusical theatrepropsscenic constructionstage management and technical theatre. The Institute’s international networks and deep industry links, ensures graduates are employable, enjoying successful careers in theatre, dance and opera companies, festivals and events, film, television and games production. 2022 Pinnacle Foundation Scholarships

The Pinnacle Foundation is a national charity that provides Scholarships and mentoring to LGBTIQ+ students between the ages of 18-27 who are planning to study full-time at a public institution of higher education in Australia, for the purpose of gaining an educational or vocational qualification in any profession, trade or the arts. Applications are now open and close 15 September. To apply for a Pinnacle Foundation scholarship students need to meet the eligibility criteria and then complete the online application.
