Meat Tasting Fundraiser

Guyra Central School P&C Association and The School of Environmental and Rural Science, University of New England has teamed up and held another successful Meat Tasting Fundraiser. On behalf of the Guyra Central School P&C,  I would like to thank everyone for their participation. Friends, family and community members have thankfully given 1 hour of their time and this fundraiser has again raised $1000 for the school P&C, which in turn is for the students at Guyra Central School.

Where does the money come from: The Meat Standards Australia (MSA) research program has been running for over 20 years and has conducted over 150,000 consumer sensory events. These provide data for the MSA eating quality prediction models, which underpin the MSA grading system. This is valuable research which supports livestock producers and for every taste testing event the program can donate $1000.

How does it work: Each taste testing event requires exactly 60 people to attend for 1 hour. Each participant taste tests 7 cooked beef or lamb samples and completes a simple survey. The research team will do all the cooking, serving and data collection, plus the set up and clean up!

Upon completion of the 60 surveys, we will receive a donation of $1000, no cost to us!

This fundraiser has proven to be very successful and extremely beneficial to the P&C so we look forward to holding this again in 2020 and hope you can support this for your children.

Santa Photos

Guyra Central School P&C held their annual Christmas Photo fundraiser for 2019. We would like to thank everyone who supported us. We had a fantastic team and I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your help, we had so much fun, but as we know this could not have been possible if we didn't have our Santa and photographer. This year we had our Traditional Scene, Photo booth and our outdoor scene and raised $638.00. We look forward to seeing you all next year.
