LA TROBE UNIVERSITY

A representative from La Trobe University will be at the college on Tuesday 26th June. She will provide general information regarding La Trobe University and their earl entry scheme ASPIRE. Interested students are invited to attend this information session. This is a great information to find out information and ask questions.   It will be held in C4 from 1.00pm – 1.35pm. Bring your lunch.

 

LA TROBE UNIVERSITY – ASPIRE

Aspire is La Trobe’s early admissions program which rewards students who volunteer, lead and make a positive impact on their community.

Aspire applications for 2019 open on 1 June 2018 and will close on 31 August 2018.

Students who successfully apply to La Trobe through the Aspire Program receive an early conditional course offer, minimum ATAR requirements and access to study support throughout Year 12.

 

MELBOURNE CAREER EXPO

This is to be held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre/South Wharf, from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd July. Students can hear from over 150 exhibitors – from major employers and education providers.

MACPHERSON SMITH RURAL FOUNDATION UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS AND RURAL CHANCES VOCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS

OPEN June 1st and close August 10th 2018.  The MSRF Scholarship program offers scholarships to year 12 students from rural/regional Victoria to enable them to participate in university study after they complete their VCE studies. The scholarships provide financial support of $30,000 ($10,000 per year for three years), and additional support through participation in our mentoring and leadership development programs. 

 

The Rural Chances Scholarships for vocational education are available to support students wanting to study at TAFE or undertake apprenticeships. Young people 16-24 years old can apply for a $2,000 scholarship to assist with the purchase of equipment, fees and tools of the trade necessary for vocational study, or a $5,000 scholarship to assist them moving away from home or with travel expenses necessary to complete their qualification.

AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE FORCE – GAP YEAR APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN

The ADF Gap Year program is an excellent way for students to experience military life and gain a greater understanding of what’s involved. On completion they can continue serving in the Navy, Army or Air Force, or offer the skills and experience they have acquired to an alternate career path.

Places are strictly limited and will only be open for a limited time.

Details of the Gap Year roles are available at defencejobs.gov.au/gapyear. Employment commences early 2019. Applicants must have completed Year 12 and be aged between 18 and 24.
