Year 7 & 8 Entrepreneurial Class (E School)

While the Year 7s and 8s worked remotely from home during Entrepreneurial class, they were designing a game for their peers to play on their return to on-site learning. Students worked in teams to develop a game, complete with logistics, space, rules and scoring, and then on Friday E School class, they led their peers in the prototyping of the game.

They only had the following materials to use:

  • 2 rackets or paddles
  • 1 ping pong ball
  • 1 roll of masking tape
  • 1 bag of balloons
  • 5 plastic cups
  • 1 spool of string.

We had some wonderful game names – including my personal favourites, Wiffle Ball, Balloon Brawl, and Tic Tac Run! The students reviewed each other’s games and also self-reflected on their own to show their learning from the experience.

The students developed 21st century and employability skills such as designing, prototyping, teamwork and communication.  As you can see from the following photos, students had a lot of fun while they were learning these essential skills as well.
