JP Racing Virtual Push Cart Challenge
After a disappointing year with no HPV or push cart races held, the JP Racing Students have a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel. The Energy Breakthrough competition has organised a Virtual Push Cart Challenge which can be conducted at school. All 49 of our students have been split into 6 teams and will compete in the push cart components against each other.
Teams have been frantically learning about the vehicles and will put together 2 videos presenting the information they have learnt in a fun interesting way. They will also demonstrate their knowledge of the push cart designs by dismantling them and working together as a team to put them back together.
On Friday 26 November, the 6 teams will compete against the clock in 3 teamed races. An obstacle course, navigating their vehicles around witches hates, a sprint event and an endurance event. These will be held on the school oval after recess with the other classes coming out to watch at different stages.
Each of the 5 elements is worth 20 points and the team with the highest overall score will be crowned “Kings of the Push Cart Challenge”!!!!!!!
Although it is disappointing that the students did not get to experience a Maryborough race this year, this is a great way to celebrate instead.
We would also like to thank the sponsors of the JP Racing Program this year. Your contribution has helped grow the program and improve on an already amazing experience for the students this year and beyond.
This years’ Sponsorship money has contributed towards:
Purchase of moulds for building a carbon fibre fairing, enabling us to build our own for years to come.
